let the mud slinging commence

Unfortunately, as much as people say they hate the negative, it sells.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. I think the only thing the negative ones do is make the ones who make them look petty.

They can't make themselves look good on their own so they have to put down the competition.

The problem is, once one goes negative, the other can't stay rosy and upbeat. Into the mud they both must go

"Bob: A Great Future for us All." "George Wants to Know if Bob is Still Beating His Wife."

"Bob Wants to Know Why Bob is Spreading Lies." "George Thinks Bob is Covering Up the Black and Blue Truth."

"Bob Has Never Beaten His Wife. Ever." "George Says That's What all Abusive Husbands Say."

"Bob Thinks George is a Lying Sack of Shit. And Probably a Pedophile as well." etc. etc. etc.

Once you're put on the defensive, you've lost the media battle.

Well, the traditional wisdom is that the right-wing benefits when fewer people show up at the polls.

damnit. fine I'll vote but I'll vote angry teach them a lesson

I'll still be voting, but those ads have little influence on me.
