Oh no. I had bloody meatloaf nipples with the last baby. No fun at all, and very painful! I used a lotion that really helped...
Please share the name! I've been using lanolin a couple of times a day, but I could use all the help I can get...
Lansinoh, that's what it was! I used it before, during, after every feeding! I wouldn't have survived otherwise!
I also took turns nursing and pumping, because pumping was easier on my nipples.
He both nursed and bottle fed (pumped milk) from two weeks of age. Never had the nipple confusion problem. Used Aveda nipples.
loved Lansinoh, too, pumpkin. And, I'm glad the bewbs are performing for the Tiny Man.
Yeah, I nurse and pump, because he's a lazy feeder, so I have to. He only gets about 1/2 an ounce when he nurses.
I guess I should apply the Lansinoh more often than twice a day then!
Hang in there, keep pumping and trying to nurse. My first 2 boys did great, but my youngest was 3 months before he nursed well!
Once the youngest boy got the hang of it, he nursed until age 3, LOL!
Oh, I'm not giving up until the boobies decide to give up, that's for sure! I'd rather not spend $1,000 on formula during the next year!
With my first 2 boys, I never, ever used formula. Thought of it as poison, LOL. The last boy got formula occassionally when my nipples...
And he survived, LOL. But, yeah, expensive stuff. That alone is motivating!
I don't make quite enough milk yet for Tiny Man, but getting closer! He gets 8-10 oz of formula a day, mostly at night.
That makes the nights a little easier!
Gerber also has a really nice nipple cream
make sure you put the lansinoh on BEFORE you pump. That way you don't get all that friction on the boobs
definitely up the Lasinoh to like every few hours. It'll make a huge difference.
