spent all morning upgrading, installing, waiting.. all in an effort to remotely shut down a Windows machine in the closet 2 rooms away.

given the machine to use for testing, but instead of enabling RDC, they used some 3rd party remote access software

so I have to use a virtual machine to access the real machine! (And my VM software had a new release today.)
