agrees on the consoles, 360 has the most variety and back catalog, though new stuff mostly comes out for all 3 platforms.

The 360 has more games (including older, 'Greatest Hits' titles) and is a bit cheaper

If he's under 14 or 15 I'm not sure you'd want him online anyway...the community is pretty horrible...and all-voice

Make sure you read the ESRB rating on the boxes!!! Some of the 360 games are very much intended for adults :-)
