one of my favorite teachers read great novels to us (like *1984* and we had vigorous class discussions about them. He *listened* to us!
Discussions, debates, kids having a voice.
I have so many. My dad taught @ my HS, so I got only the best teachers, heh-heh. I guess my favs truly cared about ME. I knew it, deep down.
Favorite teacher was clearly passionate about his subject and also formed good relationships with all his students. He wanted us to learn!

my favorite teachers didn't play head games or lay guilt trips on you. If they had a favorite, you didn't know it.They didn't give lectures!
