I like DJs that interact with the crowd, have good personalities, take requests, but even if there are no requests, are able to tell what

Yeah, there's nothing worse than a snobby dj. If someone requests a song that I'm not fond of or I don't think the people will like, I'll

make it into a little joke but still play it.

Unless it's offensive.
agrees with Ali. If I wanted to hear canned music with phoney talk I can turn on the radio. An SL DJ needs to interact.

I enjoy a dj that has a nice voice and knows his music to me it has to be the perfect mix of both

I support DJ's that interact, are relaxed and funny, and who play requests even if they *dis* the tune a bit as a joke (rock)

Definately good music.... hopefully that doesn't sound all distorted and muffled. Personality, and voice.

i dunno about the request thing, to me a good dj has a plan, like he paints the room with his music in decent, fitting colors.

playing random requests kills that art in my opinion. if the request fits into the plan, okay, but then its tricky

because you take ones request and make him happy, but turn down the next one because its random and you leave an unhappy listener.
IN WORLD, I like DJ's that are friendly and are a part of the crowd, not someone just spinning what they want to spin
That's why I don't listen to RL radio much.

fit in because the listeners hear a pattern and sense what you are going with. If thats the case, then requests usually go well.

If you're playing good music that the audience likes anyway, you won't get many requests, if any.
