make it into a little joke but still play it.

agrees with Ali. If I wanted to hear canned music with phoney talk I can turn on the radio. An SL DJ needs to interact.

I enjoy a dj that has a nice voice and knows his music to me it has to be the perfect mix of both

Definately good music.... hopefully that doesn't sound all distorted and muffled. Personality, and voice.

i dunno about the request thing, to me a good dj has a plan, like he paints the room with his music in decent, fitting colors.

playing random requests kills that art in my opinion. if the request fits into the plan, okay, but then its tricky

because you take ones request and make him happy, but turn down the next one because its random and you leave an unhappy listener.

Well I got lots of input. All are very informative. All are partially good too. Im along the lines of Jacomobeltran. I try to plan out my s

set and will put all requests in as they fit. I think, and its only my opinion, that if you have a flow to your set, the requests you get

fit in because the listeners hear a pattern and sense what you are going with. If thats the case, then requests usually go well.
