those who present at conferences...how do you afford it? Is it standard to have to pay conference registration?

I'm presenting at 3 world language conferences this year and need to pay for all. Not sure how I'm going to do it. But I really enjoy it...

more and more it's standard that you pay. Also, don't forget you can write much of it off on taxes

the one that bothers me is when they are charging participants to come to my 1/2 day workshop and I have to pay registration!

it can be an expensive hobby. If you were going anyhow it's not bad. Otherwise, it's missionary work.

I am shocked to hear you have to pay for your conference when you are presenting.

I really don't get charging a presenter who services you are profiting from, especially when it's an extra charge, multi-hour workshop.
