doesn't know what your talking about...
can feel his smile slipping a little at the thought of someone not knowing rugby. He's a little obsessed."The All Blacks crushed the_
Springboks," he manages, smiling a little too pleased with it; he has some right to, after last year. "Good start to the Tri-Nations."
still doesn't know what rugby is. The only sport he plays is hockey.
blinks, almost worried. "It's...like Football?" he tries, slightly lost. "Only with no blocking, no padding and no forward passing." He_
, anyway. Possibly more of a guess, but it's better than his knowledge of hockey at any rate, along with being a better comparison...
"Can you kick it like a football?"
nods, smiling again. He's glad the explanation wasn't too far off. "A lot of the time they're mandatory. Plus drop goals are worth three_
points. Not the right way to play, though." Then again, he might just be bitter losing last year because of them.
didn't know that this 'rugby' was so hard to play.
laughs slightly. "It's not as bad as I make it sound. You're fine if you're fast enough and have a good set of shoulders. And, some would_
tell you, not a great head on top of them...but that's mostly people who don't care for the sport. No reasoning with 'em."
doesn't have any of those traits that you mentioned.
it depends on what position, really. There's plenty of variety.
that this 'rugby' is very... Physical...
really can't argue with that in the slightest, considering most of it is tackling or in scrum. He looks a little abashed at that.
either hurt them bad or... Not play... Your 'rugby'.
he shouldn't worry too much about hurting people, firm in the belief in the hardiness of rugby players. With a little care...but_
he's willing to leave it at that. "Probably for the best. You'd demolish the competition. Wouldn't quite be fair," he sighs,_
almost mournfully. Admittedly, his priorities might be a little askew...
nods slightly. "Its why i play hockey"
what position he plays. If he remembers right, hockey has it's physical moments...Then again, that might be the priorities talking.
plays goalie. "I scare them and they don't make a shot"
for a moment before chuckling slightly, surprised. That's actually a pretty sound way of doing things. He'd never have considered it.
smiled. "Its how we won that hockey game against america"
laughs honestly at that. "That's good to hear. And congratulations on it, however belated."
"And congrats on that 'rugby' score of yours"
snorts softly. "Not a problem, you more than deserve tham. And the Springboks had it coming."
how the scoreing works in rugby...
would be more than glad to explain; he hopes it's up to scratch. "Two main ways: getting the ball over the posts or getting it on the_
ground over the line. The latter's the hardest; a try is worth five points. You can try a conversion from that, kicking it over the posts_
for another two, if you're lucky. Otherwise it's a penalty or drop kick over the posts for three."
very confused by these rules.
can sympathise. It's an odd system, but...it works in practice. He's not going to question it, and he'll leave it to the pros to keep track.
that he could watch a game if its on the magic box.
there should be plenty on, what with the Tri-Nations getting in to full swing. And, if not, he's sure to be able to find tickets...
doesn't think that live would do him any good.
guesses not, then. Well, if the other doesn't catch it, he'd be happy to send recordings.
would like that very much. He could turn the magic box up so high that you could probably hear it at japan's house.
sees absolutely no problem with that; he's all for spreading the wonder of rugby to as many people as possible. He'll see what he can send.
to know if ruben wants hockey tickets?
might take him up on that, at some point. He wonders if there's any particular teams playing he should keep an eye out for?
winces slightly before grinning sheepishly. In retrospect, that really could have been a better question.
the same question. Except with the rugby teams.
would definitely recommend looking out for the All Blacks. The Maori do pretty well too, despite being a secondary team.
would like to know how many teams there are in this sport
admittedly isn't too sure. Quite a few, certainly; there are a good number of national teams around as well...
that that's a good thing. "Having more than one thing is bad right?"
again isn't particularly sure. "I guess. It can have it's advantages, though..."
laughs slightly. "More to watch, for one. Plus a better trained talent pool, if needed."
that talent is just false. "Put them in training camp and they'll will learn in time."
