I've been going to a chiro for years now. I thought they were full of it too. But think about it: they align the bones in the spine
The spine protects the central nervous system: if you have some joints pressing on those nerves, the info is pinched off
The first chiropractic patient was not someone with a bad back: it was a man who had been deaf almost his whole life
he had picked up something heavy in his younger days. he heard a pop, then nothing. Years later, the doctor discovered a bone out of place
he pushed it into alignment, and the nerves were freed up: the man could hear again.
So said, research for a chiropractor. Find a "holistic" one to try out. They employ a method of small frequent adjustments to fix misaligns
My back hasnt gone out since I started (and I was close to having surgery according to one doctor)
My husband's endless headaches have almost all gone away, and his snoring has lessened as well.
I see a chrio on a semi reg basis - more when my back is bothering me - in Dec I was in so much pain I could barely walk
now I see her as needed. she also specializes in fitness, etc, so I have exercises I do to help strengthen the muscles around the spine
and that keeps the spinal column stronger and steadier. it has REALLY worked for me.
some chiros overreach. I think the claims of curing diabetes or cancer are overblown. But chronic pain from injury, perhaps.
oh I agree with that - chiro isn't going to cure cancer! that is just dumb, but if you have pain in your back, neck or limbs, it can help
my mom had a chiro when we were kids and she was totally against them as frauds for YEARS
then I started going about 5 years ago and she found one who wasn't a nutjob and she has been happy with the results
as w any med professional - dr, PA, dentist, etc - you have to find one you are comfortable with who listens to you and your needs.
Try an osteopath. they are natural in what they do, and find the CAUSE in just 1 visit rather than several.
Hell, my mom had her pelvis out of place, and chiro's didn't believe that could happen! an osteo fixed it in 1visit and told her what to do
In case it happened again. they are licensed doctors, not just certified bullshitters. had an uncle who used one; he came out with one leg
Shorter than the other. i will stick with my osteopath, thank you!
finding the right doctor--be it a chiro, osteopath or even a traditional one--is key. My chiro works with an osteopath.
yeah, but my osteo does the work of a chiro. so.. don't really need one.
