don't mess with me today. Those people at Shaws found out the hard way. I HATE Shaws.

annoyed with how overpriced they are - it's insane how they jack up their prices compared to the other local stores.

I get upset with the produce department. Today. The only tomatoes they had were Greenhouse. Are you kidding me it is the "harvest" season

They had 3 different kinds of onions and about 15 of each. All at $1.59 or higher per pound. I think the bugs may have been for free.

I complained about the bugs the last time and they told me that there was "probably" a cut potato. You get bugs with rot
Lukie says

granted the bugs were in the onions but it was probably a potato

I dislike Market Basket even more however, they throw sawdust on the floor like it is a backwoods store. Plus there are so many Seniors

it is hard to make a "quick" stop. They also carry some really strange "brands".

a lifetime Market Basket shopper - it doesn't faze me. The sawdust is for moisture and the older customers are there because it's cheap!
Jena

would be more put-off if there was sawdust everywhere. I guess I just see it as normal having gone there since I was a baby.
Lukie says

NOOOOOO WB please don't put that thought into my head. Personally I think the older customers go there to "hang out" ;-) :-P

I understand the sawdust is for moisture, I just had never seen it before.

I guess they have to take extra precautions because of the HuGE elderly customer base.

I kidd you not, you walk into that store and you would think it was Bingo night.
Jena says

writersblock it's not there all the time - they put some near the door on rainy/snowy days to keep people from slipping.

knows she's not making any friends by pushing the issue, but what's wrong with elderly customers?
Lukie says
NOPE nothing wrong at all. I'm saying that when 9 out of 10 shoppers in the store are elderly it makes for a longer shopping experience
Lukie says

and I certainly don't want to look like a jerk about the issue. It just seems funny for a stores clientele to be so lopsided.

the store (sawdust and all) is very clean. It comes across as a good old fashion store. I think they even sell suet in the meat department
BoopwithBetty asks

what suet is?
Lukie says
the harder fat about the kidneys and loins in beef and mutton, which, when melted and freed from the membranes, forms tallow
Lukie says
a lot of people use it for the birds
Lukie says

basically it is nasty waste. Older people have all sorts of uses I am sure.
