this is probably the same theme/story for BRICs, like the $2,000 India cars...which is needed and supported by huge domestic demand.

It reminds me long,long,long times ago, we Taiwanese were at the same situation when government orchestraed economic growth by exporting.

Domestic consumers & taxpayers subsidize exporters and OEMs.

My Chinese friends always wonder why it is so hard for them to score cheaper & better MIC products at home.
