and that will create a new layer

now what i do. is i set that layer to multiply. see where it says "normal" ? that drop down box?

click on the brush tool

which should be near the top

right next to a button that looks like a bandaid lol

so once you have that. you can click your color

on the right side... right?

all the tools you need to color are on your left

so now you can start coloring

for instance, the hair.

and once you're done the hair. you can create a new layer (by clicking on that button next to the garbage button on your right)

set it to multiply

and color the skin or something else
