I think you have to live with a certain amount of dead pixels that are counted as "within normal range"

normally yes, but I paid for extra service to make absolutely sure I have a fault free screen.

If the conditions for that particular warranty state that, I'd complain. If it said 100% non-dead pixels.

They are going to send me money to ship the damn thing back again. It will be replaced but I still have to haul it across town..
