I have an idea for a project and pinchbeck powder would be awesome for it, but I can’t find any. I may need to look for Very Shiny Brass.

Ok, so to make this work probably need a 1:1:1 mixture of epoxy resin A: epoxy resin B: brass powder, with a bit of red alcohol ink to go into and give the tint I want to make the Taeliana version of Orichalcum, so I can make Meliantha’s sword, and maybe an Imperial circlet.

Taelianan orichalcum is the hardest metal currently known. It’s extremely rare, sometimes found in veins of iron. It often gets found when smelting iron and it floats to the surface of the molten iron. It requires magic to get it hot wnough to shape.

The metal itself ia lighter than iron, and accepts
enchantments incredibly well. If used in an edged weapon, it has to be heated to sharpen it - with adamantitedarksteel tools! - and if it needs to be resharpened, no one has ever seen it happen. It slices through iron and steel.

The big problems with it are: rarity, difficulty to forge, and its occasional tendency to rip out the soul of the magewright making it and make that soul part of its enchantment matrix. Items of Orichalcum are usually made by experts in the craft who do it for a specific purpose.

I think I get the gist, but still want to know what pinchbeck is.

“Pinchbeck is a form of brass, an alloy of copper and zinc mixed in proportions so that it closely resembles gold in appearance.” It was used a lot for fraud purposes because how much it appears to be gold.
