timeriders series by alex scarrow (idk why this listing doesn't have all 9 books whut) 
i've been trying to get a friend to read these for years but to no avail, so now you all get these recs 🤣
hubby did humor me and read timeriders after i wouldn't stop yapping about it (and 9 books was a big commitment BLESS) and now it's one of his faves
