I’ve calmed down a little from the hype. I did not expect Shadow to be genuinely emotional and relatable in some very small but core things

As much as I’ve been enjoying the expansion of game Maria, it was nice to have a version of her that shows how much of a fun and loving girl she was.

Maria being a part of shadow’s life and showing him caring about her was one thing, but showing them as people who did insanely normal things together was something I wanted to see

I liked that she just seemed like...normal?

Like there wasn't anything spectacular about her, she was just a regular girl

I was surprised how Shadow learned how to be “good”. I’m happy with the angle they went. It being slow and showing that Shadow was inching toward regret by having more interactions with others

something especially sad about how Shadow wasn't even looking for revenge at first. He escaped from the prison and was just wandering around Tokyo in the rain because he's confused and suddenly GUN is on him again.

He literally just wanted to be left alone

It was a subtle message turned full circle, you’re not you when you’re angry. The fact that he fought Sonic like he did AT THE SAME LEVEL, with Sonic snapping himself out of it...and then him realizing with the stars that the anger wasn’t Maria it was all chefs kiss

Did anyone else think Rockwell was gonna turn out to be the real villain?

OddEyes: bro yeah that got me, he was so aimless and lost. He couldn’t even get his bearings in order when the people who RUINED HIS LIFE were on his ass again

But really the whole movie is about lonely people lashing out against a world that hurt them. Even Robotnik emphasizes this theme. It goes back to Sonic’s words: “No one wins with revenge.” That’s no “you hurt the people who hurt you you’ll be just like them” type platitude it’s showing how you’re still left with nothing after it’s done.

Gerald wanted to put the world out of HIS misery. Shadow and Ivo broke the cycle by accepting that they didn’t have to be lonely anymore and accepting the hands extended to them, however briefly

Shadow realizing the beauty of the world was what Maria appreciating. This was why I didn’t mind that it wasn’t a space colony, because Maria’s good nature and appreciation for things on earth was something she could share. Not just dream about. It’s just a tomato TOMAHTO thing

Shadow and Maria having aspirations of Earth was a good story but we heard it. Maria SHARING Earth was something new

But really that’s the recurring theme of ALL these movies. Lonely people coming together and finding something greater together. Sonic exemplifies this with his new backstory, and Knuckles and Tails continued it in the 2nd
