the more of an example the police try to make of this man
the more it dredges up the part of my brain that told my parents when I was a child that any time they punished me I would do whatever they were punishing me for even more to prove that they couldn't use punishment to control me
the police surrounding him in pictures is wild considering you've got far more violent people with like
no one around them during escorts
there was a ceo stabbing near me which highlights what you mean too
he's getting punished and people are doing things
yeah it feels like they don't understand we're too far gone to be scared of the punishment anymore
it's just pissing people off more
yeah im not from the us but they more they try to spin the narrative the more i am just like
y'all kidding right lol like it's just absolutely so hilariously beyond the pale how much nobody gets it
and it's like, this. this isn't new?
those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it etc but it's just feeling like life is an ongoing onion article r
like the ny governor like. not looking at the optics of that just like fucking oof
better to have done nothing
it does feel like a "punishment" against all us dirty commoners who are cheering for the deaths of ceos huh
it's certainly an example
surprising no one
this is like the only time in my life i'm praying for copy cats
also holy shit child you was raw as hell jesus
rileyboi: another ceo got stabbed. regretfully in serious but stable condition
that was maybe 45 minutes north from me and my reaction immediately was, "he definitely did something to deserve it"
another thing I keep thinking about amidst all of this is that time I was at the pharmacy in line behind a guy in a wheelchair loudly complaining about how his insurance wanted him to reconfirm on a regular basis that he was still, in fact, an amputee
as though this were a condition that might go away eventually.
ADA stuff makes us do that where I work too, process wise. We have many people with disabilities that make them need paratransit and they're things that won't go away and yet!
"but are you SURE your leg didn't grow back in the past year sir?"
We have to go through the process of some of them being like "yes, i am still severely [insert disability]" every 5 years
We did have some forever people but lo and behold we have learned that the guy who did that was not following the law but we need to follow the law so we can keep getting adequate funding to supply paratransit
it's so stupid for things like amputees because of COURSE someone's leg ain't gonna grow back
we all know this! but lmao insurance and laws
it feels like a power trip lol
