A solid rule of thumb for people in moderated spaces online: if anyone ever starts whining that they got banned, and ALL THEY DID IS [innocuous thing], no they didn’t.
They did SOMETHING else
The guy who says ‘hi I’ve been banned and Indont know why’? He might be legitimately the victim of poor moderation.
The guy who already has a narrative lined up about what he got banned over? No chance in hell. That guy did SOMETHING he’s not telling you.
or they did a whole bunch of other shit beforehand that soured the mods on them

there was a time when I was the victim of poor moderation, but they actually made it fairly easy for me to determine why I'd been banned - i hadn't done anything
the forum expected new users to introduce themselves in a timely manner, but just after finishing signup i was called away for something that took enough time that they decided to ban me preemptively.
