EHEHHEHE
now just let it happen to all the OTHER ai-obsessed tech companies
They seriously forgot who their customer base is. Joe Shmoe who thinks generative AI is cool isn't going to pay for a subscription for an art/photo editor program. Only the artists and photographers they scraped from would.
this was always going to happen once the seed money ran out, turns out, people have to actually want to buy your product to make money on it
most of the the people that CREATE, don't like ai. so of course adobe would shoot themselves in foot with that decision.
I still laugh at the commercial they had a while back with a kid using the AI feature. Like oh yeah, lots of parents are going to buy yet another subscription so their child can make pictures. Or... They'll just give them some crayons.
I use Adobe Stock for my day job and I get a petty thrill out of clicking "Exclude AI Results" from my searches (although this is followed by resigned annoyance that I have to do this every time I hop onto the site)
Whenever I'm in websites looking for stock images I always make sure to disable the options for AI images in the results and I really, really hope any statistics they have for use of those options show they're not used often
There's indeed a petty thrill on doing that
I sure avoid the Adobe AI options like the plague too
