ALL I HEARD WAS PERSONA 5 AND BETA VERSIONS OF SMT5 AND SOUL HACKERS 2
and rehashes of P3 and P5... P4 soon probably
and the 294324923 P5 spin-offs that 5 people played
This game was in the oven for a while and they def. cooked more than I thought
when are you making your will journal
I reaaaally adored the main cast
This took me like 130 hours to beat... I was far more invested than I thought
This was technically shorter than P5, but there were a lot more side quests
Since this is the 'third pillar', I have to wonder what a Metaphor 2 will be like
I can see them going full SMT/Persona where they have things be very loosely connected but still be one-offs mostly
metwophor...they have a lot of leeway in terms of worldbuilding
There's still so much of the world that we haven't seen!
yeah euchronia is just one kingdom/various principalities joined on the whole planet
With how much effect they put into this, it'd be a shame to just toss it all for the next game
I gotta say that they cleverly avoided a lot of Persona tropes that I thought they would do
I loved they kept Louis as the main villain to the very end since there was a point where I thought we would get a fake out, then "OH THIS IS TRUE VILLAIN"
There was a point where I almost thought he'd join the party but they shut that door real hard
Also a lot of deaths in this game... It felt like an SMT game since that sense
But every death held weight and mattered for the story and characters... It wasn't just despair porn for the sake of it
Fidelio was one character I thought was going to live to the end, but nooooope
Joanna was the first "holy shit they really did that" death since she had all the keys to a full redemption arc, then they killed her off just like that
She did offer her head, but I didn't think they'd do it
Also really appreciated the nods to the Law and Chaos reps for SMT
I'm surprised that they didn't give us a choice to join Forden like they did for Louis just to drive that point home lmao
There were some pacing issues whenever you hit the second half of the game, but it felt more tightly written than P5's ruse cruise
3 hours of Metaverse nonsense only for Futaba to infodump you for an extra 15 minutes to cover up all the other plot holes <_>
i felt that the mage academy was supposed to be a whole-ass dungeon and then got cut along the way
I wish that they made the Mage Academy ruins an actual dungeon before you fought Rella-- YEAH
The cards were all right there
yeah like...rella's connected to junah, bas, and del, they talk about how hythlo's connection to the mage academy, it being a symbol of sanctism's failings, and we got...just a dragon boss fight
and sob once again the sixth ranger joining gets screwed over by the fast moving plot...
a shame
I was so surprised that Basilio got an Archetype... If this were Persona, he would've gotten it in the Simile edition
I liked his character, but it was like MAN why he did have to join so late
Speaking of which, all of those Follower Links were very good
I feel like Persona's Social Links with non-party member characters did not improve until P5 since those had a lot of cool characters
Basilio had such a rushed scene for his unlock
I adore Junah as the Nidia rept, but I wish Alonzo joined to see him strut the Faker class
I feel like it was obviously supposed to happen in the mage academy dungeon that got cut
dude just passes out and wakes up with it, very clearly a cut corner lmao
YEAH... Him getting it at a Mage Academy would've made way more sense
His awakening sequence was so subdued too... Just "bye bro" (AWAKENS)
also ngl I'm outta the rp game but I would of had you more pegged for strohl than the prince
I actually don't know who I'd play
I loved Strohl a whole lot tho'... MY NOBLE GOAT
he's definitely the best "first to join best bro" they've done yet
did not at all expect the dynamic him and hulkenberg end up having too and it was great the whole way through
Gallica best navigator too... holy shit
Yeah, they really avoided the 'bro character is the butt monkey to the gal pal' trope that they like to do with Persona
The banter never felt one-side
I wish Catherina joined too... She was really funny
Loveless turned out to be pretty cool... I think he was my favorite candidate since he actually had a mini-arc
I was soooooooo disappointed she wasn't playable
seeing all her skills after you get the ability to see them from moore and just was like
HAHA WEEPS
It felt like they were considering it but dropped the idea
Maybe in the Simile edition....
and regardling the final boss
I'm going to hearing SACRIFICE YOURSELF TO THE NEW AGE in my dreams now
I heard he gets 12 turns if you don't beat the mini-bosses for the final dungeon
I have to wonder how Persona 6 is going to turn out since Hashino has left as director, I think Wada's running the show now
Yes. Also. Predictably I loved hulkenberg the most because a woman S obsessed with chivalry and eating as I am where have I seen that before....
We'll see some Hulk/Saber crossover art in time
And apparently her English VA did theater and she said that she had to tone it down on her performance at a few points
Which is funny since her JP VA (Saori Hayami) does a lot of soft spoken roles
honestly seeing that she was hulkenberg sealed who my favorite was gonna be
