Okay so. cannibalherpes just to clarify, this is the first time the maintainence droids in question will be circulating outside of the maintenance department? I want to be sure they haven't been a background feature before I form Vincent's proposed reaction.

Cool cool. My idea is to make a sort of quasi top level. He'd probably aim to snag the one that's patrolling the dust collection/wire check of the infirmary first. All 'wtf is this'. Probably succeed on that one outright.

Then be seen wandering around tracking down other potentials in the walls. Whether he's stopped or not depends on encounters.

Eventually tehre's enough missing that a 'come look for them' situation happens where he has 'nth number' stacked up/disabled.

Is there anything about the MSE themselves that'd prevent that?

If he does do the thing where he captures it, do you want any in between on that? Like an effort, or good to go with 'he captures it, and goes to investigate' and THAT be the focus of the narrative?

Whichever you prefer! It has about two days worth of battery before it’ll peter out on its own and Thrawn might notice the first day when it fails to recharge but that’s about it
