i imagine it's probably standalone. there aren't actually a ton of timelines where this style of colony is the main thing, and the mechanical designs look too wildly different from anything preceding

i guess they could theoretically drop it into some vague far future UC point if they really wanted to but i don't think that'd get them anything.

The Ad Stella timeline for G-Witch has a lot of potential in it, but they'd probably have to get permission and collab with G-Witch's writers to play around in that timeline toybox

Standalone is probably the safest bet

yeah ad stella doesn't have island 3 colonies at all as far as we know so that's probably the least likely

it's all asteroids and shit there

So this has been in production since 2018... One of the concepts of this was the question "What if an Evangelion designer made a Gundam?"

And it's implied the reason why they're going full CGI with the Gundams now is because the G-Quack (calling it this because it's funnier) would be difficult to draw for animators

The reason why they're releasing this now is because it's Gundam's 45th anniversary

They mentioned that the G-Quack looks good next to the RX-78 (OG Gundam) and I can see the inspiration for its design now!

A lot of people (both east and west) are curious where this takes place in the Gundam timeline too
