Oh I think it's pretty much canon that Ford at least considers eating to be a waste of time/forgets to eat, and at most, has issues with forcing himself to. It's a widely accepted headcanon at least, and it's not far out of the realm of possibility due to the 30 years in the portal & the weeks of being tortured by Bill before that & the pressure of school

before that.

Like Stan allows himself to do whatever he wants, pretty much, since Ford has risen so much higher than him, and he views his snacks as a "might as well" situation, since he has nothing better to do, while Ford views them as a luxury he doesn't get and resents Stan for it without knowing he's doing so?

THAT'S THE THING. Stan and Ford rely too much on the silent understanding of each other that they had as kids. They don't know how to argue, and they think the other can read their minds

when they can't. "Joke's on them if they think you wanna go to some stuffy college on the other side of the country" means "Please don't leave me", and Stan thinks Ford knows that, but he doesn't, because it's not what Stan said.
