[Holiday containment] I will put Christmas all in one place for the squad with religious trauma since I'm about to get Festive in memory of my bro who was in fact, a Christmas Eve sprootling and would usually be helping me with The Decorating of casa de voidbeast clan today I'm sorry in advance i will probably be annoying

Yiii it's kinda not something I will ever be able to disconnect from him, my big brother was born Christmas eve while dad was stationed in Germany and was brought home in a stocking. The nurses used to call him their Kristkindle
So I have heard all these stories about their time in Germany and the way the city was decorated
Ngl Halloween has always been the beginning of my favorite season

also tbh once you get the plane ticket to europe, it's cheaper to stay there than most of the US

we are paused at 80% complete so that mia can participate... tomorrow. when we both ahve more enbergy
i brought in all the boxes, vacuumed the lviing room and dusted a bunch of shelves, folded and put away the towels, ran two loads of laundry, and made dinner
also i washed the dishes this morning before starting everything!
I got so much done today i am v proud of myself
i even took little breaks in between things!!!
like I also leveled my bnnuy in ff14 a bunch!
i am doing a rest and being smoov brain tonight, will Decorate tomorrow, and then wear cute clothes to see the catboy Wicked tomorrow night with the bestie

Ziri!mum actually made all the stockings, and the wreath of Holly and ivy was made by The Sibling

We used to have one nutcracker for each family member but we don't have one for either of my siblings rn
The husky plushes are from when we had two in those colors; silver and rust red
Everything is basically "so I found this thing that is Perfect(tm)" and slowly we built it up until it's Just Right
And I'm breaking out the family China plates for the holidays because who will stop me, the police?? Non

Thannnnkkkk we like a Traditional Christmas but our colors are dark blue and silver instead of red, green, and gold, and the tree is all stars and angels motifs with a couple exceptions

But also fastest way to make house smell Festive: tiny crackpot full of water, drop in five cloves, a smol stick of cinnamon, and shake in some rosemary
Plug it in and just remember to top off the water when it gets low, empty of aromatics and refill as necessary if it gets overcooked
We had to swap put the cloves for bay leaves when ziri!mum realized the cloves were triggering her allergies but in my heart it is supposed to be cloves

Came to my room to finish decorating only to find a cranky old man snoozing on top of my folded laundry, who protested when I turned on the lights so I draped something over his head to block the light
Glittermonster tree complete!!! It isn't lit because the lights on this give it the Dark Pink Eye Of Sauron vibes
Also there's a light out and I do not have replacements! I am hoping to swap the dark pink for something fun but idk what but that is a project for Future Ziri who has money for fairie lights
