I'm in Canada so no days off, but there is the all-day MST3K marathon to keep me going

also, planning a Thanksgiving dinner with friends on Sunday evening, so we will get good foods eventually

I am feeling bad for my parents a bit...this is the first year they're not doing their usual big Thanksgiving at my grandma's house with my mom'

s extended family

but grandma is currently in Texas since she moved there to be with her new husband and won't visit until Christmas, and one of my aunts just passed, and all us adult kids are always busy

so my mom's last remaining sibling and her husband are coming to my parents' place for their own Thanksgiving dinner

I've been pretty lucky in that throughout my years doing Thanksgiving with mom's side of the family, everyone has been good about sticking with a "no politics" rule (and most people in the fam are some shade of liberal anyway) so this holiday's had pleasant memories for me

and now we've all gotten old enough that it's like "ah, we can't really do this anymore"
