I’ll give you guys some easy freebies: it was not the battery. The car had lights but the engine wouldn’t turn over. I get it regularly checked and the oil is also regularly changed

The alternator cable came loose

So the battery didn't charge last time you drove ot

And the lights etc take less battery power than turning the engine over.

magicom: that was going to be my guess when we figured out the battery was okay. But no! Alternator was fine

Anyway sorry it died again just now for a second

The gear shift disconnected partially from the transmission lever so the car thought it wasnt in park.

And to fix it you had to take the whole car apart so we did a temp fix of fabricating the hardware needed to stop the gear shift from sliding around

Jesus christ. that's fucking stupid did they have to touch the assembly at all or did it just happen?
