i don't see why not, you'd just have to maybe put them in last so they wouldn't be overcooked
yeah they'll just heat faster than bigger shrimp
maybe see if you can find a time for how long tiny shrimp should cook for and alter the recipe accordingly
As a person who has fussed with tiny shrimp stirfry before, I back up
chocoballs and
yinza here. They will become very rubbery and even SMOLLER in nanoseconds. I would honestly do it where you do the veg with a bit of extra sauce and actually mix in the shrimp and let it heat/infuse with the residual heat from the cook in a separate bowl.
It's that finicky with cooktimes.
I'm just here to say it sounds/looks delicious
And to make sure it warms through on the tiny shrimp, I'd be like.... 'take off heat, stir in shrimp, cover' sort of deal.probably. o.-
IT OCCURS TO ME to make a note that if you buy your tinyshrimp frozen please make sure to dethaw before using my suggestions!
dethaw is possibly a nonword
frantically looks at package
it says "ready to eat in minutes" and that i shouldn't refreeze them...
no no I want them to be thawed!
I sometimes confuse 'thaw' and 'defrost' and say 'dethaw' and... yeah that is misleading haha
I mean, you aren't the only one to confuse the two, to the point that "dethaw" is listed in the dictionary with that exact note on it
irregardless, you definitely want the shrimps to be thawed
(look, i couldn't resist this very stupid joke)
I assume the tiny frozen shrimp are pre-cooked, in which case I would think you could probably just kind of fold them into your stir fry a few times shortly before you plan to take it off the heat
but this is also why I get medium shrimp because they can usually go into the meal at a reasonable period of time with the rest of the stuff, and it makes being lazy easier
because yeah... agreed that they'll get rubbery if cooked too long
dfklasdfasd well it was mostly because I was looking for recipes on foodcombo that used teriyaki sauce and rice, and i was like
oh i think commodities gave us tiny shrimp or something
so i was wondering if i could use some of them up a bit
oo yes, eat some shrimp with teriyaki
rag_doll_witch: ...I love this fact thank you for googling it and finding out. XD
it is human nature to fuck up language so bad you create new language
trying this tonight, wish me luck in handling tiny shrimp
if i fuck up because of how tiny they are, i have a backup plan of buffalo wings
lord, i forgot how intense shrimp is as a smell
It truly is a scent. ALSO HOW DID IT GO?
> James: man, i'm worried i really don't have enough rice, will this little tiny half a box really do...?
> James, opening up the lid to check rice soakage: oh lawd
also.... used... more shrimp than i probably needed....
lets not worry about what's in my skillet right now as i eat
but it came out okay! not rubbery, which is all i can ask for!
think i watered down the teriyaki sauce a little too much by accident as i bullshitted through this recipe
everything tastes better as leftovers anyway, and you can freeze rice, so you could probably freeze this in a ziploc freezer bag and reheat at a future date
but tbh there is never too much rice or too many shrimp
if you freeze it, portion it out before freezing though, just so you don't have to thaw more than a single meal at a time
