rereading a fic i like and man. i really do go for weird fic
its a pokemon digimon crossover that primarily exists for spec bio
but at the same time also exists to be as chaotic as possible
in a very....pokemon way. theyre shopping at a store for supplies and its mentioned they might go straight from glacier to desert, since the maps might not be accurate.
the shopkeeper responds, very understanding "ah, time travel"

yeah dude. thats just normal for pokemon. things are just happening all the time. your customers need all terrain gear bc of time travel (incorrect its obviously something far more complicated bc tragically they have pokemon mc syndrome)

im at the halfway point where they bring the gazimon back to digimon world but hes adapted to the pokemon world at this point and every digimon thinking hes the most horrifying thing in the world. a gazimon cant do that!!!!

hes not even that strong on the scale but hes an extremely weird lil guy now
still rereading it and loving it. love the moment where the pokemon characters realize: oh. the digimon human world doesnt have type energy. they do NOT have pokemon durability here
they hate it so bad. yeah! you are in fact a massive threat just by the fact that pokemon physics does Not interact well with a normal human world.
yeah you could destroy the enviroment by using rain dance. please dont use rain dance
its such a weird fic but man i just love the way it like, decides how a thing works and then runs with it. the internal logic might not match real canon but its all internally consistant and they are going to poke at it all

the narration never says it outright, just mentions in chapter one that he was hired straight out of his badge journey
this means he is FIFTEEN
NOBODY has mentioned this until he is in a normal human world where a 15 year would NOT have a job and be the most powerful person in a 200 mile radius
like, half of this fic is spec bio from a transformation liker, and the other half is an exploration of unreliable narration and universal standards differing
and NOBODY up to this point would realize that there is something wrong with a 15 year being like this bc either they were a creature or from pokemon where that is way more normal than it should be
its SO GOOD

urg. while i do like the intro to the digimon/'real world' arc it does drag a bit as we deal with all the parents
i could just skip the rest of the arc to the next slightly more fun story but theres still nuggets of gold in here
its insane to me how back and forth the disability stuff is in this arc. we have depictions of fantasy disability that do a great job as far as i can tell. and then we have a pokemon who took a really bad injury and they cant help but use the word cripple over and over. dogshit arc. really looking forward to this arc being over
the first 400k is great and then we have the slowest 100k in the world

i remember really liking the arc after this i think...
gets to the next arc. yeah god yeah this is juicy
the way that the moment we werent just doing setup and shit with parents things started going off again is SO funny. at this point in the story one of the characters is doing an evil monologue about how friendship truly IS his hidden power up
"through the great power of friendship i have built a force that will crush you like the vermin you are" thanks dude.
the issue with them fucking up with disibility stuff has not fully gone away but the character writing is SO much better now. that arc was just bad
