Has anyone done a story where time loops every time the character dies, no matter how long that takes?

Like, you loop back to your 18th birthday every time, even if you died at 96 years old

You can’t choose to loop back sooner (other than self-terminating, I guess)

And you can’t ever choose for it to be your final “run”

It’d be a very different kind of story, perhaps not really feasible to tell

Probably would get kind of nihilistic

Or super nihilistic

oh that would be a fascinating story to tell though

on the one hand, you have the ability to take all those untraveled roads over your whole life where you find yourself thinking "what if i had done X instead?"

but on the other hand, the amount of stuff you can explore with that is finite, and you have infinite lifespans

how many would it take for you to get sick of it?

or, how many would it take for you to realize you can't escape the loop and just start using each lifetime to be a reckless idiot? You know, the thing that happens in every time loop story eventually, which also means it's a phase you already went through here but on a much shorter timescale
