Like...you never get the training wheels feeling in this game, ever
And sometimes those training wheels are SUPER ANNOYING so it can almost be nice to have a game that will fucking give you syphilis if one of the 5877678 cliff racers you encounter on every walk you take outside town bites you
Morrowind doesn't give a fuck if you find Sidequest Cave because it knows you're gonna find two other caves, a vampire den, a demon merchant and a guy who erotically auto-asphyxiated himself in orbit on the way there
You won't even remember Sidequest Cave in ten minutes
my only experience with Morrowind was playing briefly on a friend's computer. I made a khajiit who was killed within 15 minutes when trying to swim across a river
kdjflkasdfas yeah slaughterfish are fucked up and take offense at your sheer existence
but i still enjoy it so much.... thus the fifty million plurks i keep making about it every night
I'm glad! honestly you're making me want to play it but... I am trying to get through the games I already own asgih
SLAUGHTERFISH.......
i was actually trying to get through my og Thief games, but then I was without internet for that one week, so I was like.... "I know Morrowind indepth, it's open world and i can bullshit around"
and then i got hyperfixated again! i don't know why i thought i wouldn't
I love it so much tho, slaughterfish, cliff racers and all
SAME.... someone made a meme in the morrowind tag on tumblr that was like "who wants to make a neverarine ic? [people raise their hands] who wants to play morrowind? [hands lowered]" and admitted that they needed mods to play it or such
which i won't judge! but also, couldn't be me lakdjfalskjf
i'm the kind of perhaps masochistic type who will go in raw lmao
I have such fond memories of Morrowind on XBox.... Never got far in it though. Just remember a friend and I would spend most of our time trying to steal everything that wasn't nailed down
honestly that's just how you play it, i think
but anyway, if you ever want to revisit, it's like $15 when not on sale
i never got far in morrowind but i also tried to steal everything that wasn't nailed down, and then ran into inventory issues, and then decided that every barrel/box outside of buildings in town were now my storage receptacles
alternatively, break into a locked house in balmora and that's yours now-
claim a house for my own...new plan if i ever try again
LMAO WELL NO ONE HAS STOPPED ME YET!!!
y'all play morrowind way better than I do
but yeah there's a lil house in Balmora (the city you're told to go to at the very beginning lmao) that has, like... a rooftop latch? and i have, ever since i was a child, for every single run
I don't actually enjoy playing sneakthieves I've determined
broken in via that latch, cleared everything out, and made it mine
i like playing sneakthieves because i'm bad at fighting and also i'm a videogame kleptomaniac
and to be fair, you could probably use a Scroll of Unhinging to break into it without knowing Security skill, and that shit is found in literally every god damn bandit cave ever
but i also like playing sneakthieves because the OG Thief series gravely imprinted on me as a child
i watched my uncle play thief as a child...so i didn't get to see much of it but it was certainly interesting...
honestly as a stealth game? STILL holds up imo, if you can look past the old ass graphics lmao
and i'll always love its art direction with the scenes and stuff
I think my autistic tendencies makes me a little too reticent to do a lot of that. I don't even steal from TOMBS much anymore.
they are Dirt Cheap on steam if you ever want to give that a go, although I will say that least the first game needs to be mod'd to be playable because it.... wasn't meant for modern day computers lakdjsflas
i just beat a windows 95 remake of an msdos game a couple weeks ago, i'm here for ye oldes
gently adds it to my eternally growing game collection
to help it run on anything made since the turn of the century lmao
I also stole the same fucking house lmfao
i see this is prime real estate
listen it's just so convenient!
i distantly recall you later get your own Real house in the main story, but, like. the stolen house stays in my heart eternal
I still can’t believe we stole the same house
man I got real far into this back in the day
mostly I recall that I wanted to use the Boots of Blinding Speed so enchanted an indiril helm to... I think cast light??
but I thought the indiril armor guards in vivec city would be mad if they saw me wearing that, so I'd take it and the boots off whenever I visited
and was then always like wooooow everything's so bright! (whatever I enchanted the helm with wasn't enough lol) and also wow I move so slow
somehow never thought about I can make a thing of non blinding speed
kkldsfasdflkasdf honestly makes sense. the little things you do when you rpg sometimes lmao
look
i remember stealing everything not nailed down
then learning magic to make spells
soul trap + levitate aimed at your own feet
soul trap + enhance speed aimed at your own feet.... (or whatever the temp speed buff was supposed to be)
if you did enough speed, you could clip out of rooms
and then no one could see you stealing things
