luna_y_gatos: thanks, it was a wedding gift and has worked well, but it takes forever to make a batch of waffles.

ChefKarl: new ones arent as sturdy no matter how well you take care of it. use it or just display it, it will stop working in ~3yrs

Sadly, that is the nature of new products. This one just does not heat as well and is slower and slower every year.
