We do actually lose power on the regular due to snowstorms and the like it's just that generators are expensive and take up a lot of room

no we actually have a moderate amount of use for them, especially in rural areas. because although this once is particularly bad, we do in fact have November as a dedicated wind storm season, and the nature of doug firs is such that branches hit lines all the time.

Yeah PNW has power outages, it's just more often downed trees or ice storms than lightning strikes
yeah. if a hundred foot tall tree falls over in an urban environment, it's hitting powerlines. I don't make the rules that's just how it is

and, like, when I lived on a main street, we didn't have a generator or any need for one, because power Would Be Restored with a swiftness
