The only thing of note I've accomplished lately
Been using a Banette EX deck that's getting good results
I kinda gave up on that one because connection issues
kittylyoko: honestly the speed bothers me too. I actually lost a match I already had win condition for because the stuff I had to do (shift damage counters around, retreat and switch, use abilities) the animations ended up running the clock to )
the person I was having the match with obviously knew this lol because they otherwise had no hope
Yeah, my issue with the game (might have been fixed now) was it'd just stall and get stuck trying to reconnect and by the time it connected I'dd timed out
and it's really suffering spending 20+ min in a game then losing because their servers kinda suck
so kinda like pocket's 5 min card battles even if it's a lot simpler and less varity right now
I've only had one total disconnect since I started playing again so it's probably fixed to a degree
it used to happen every other game for me
but I can understand wanting to use pocket instead, it sounds much snappier
but I'd also not played on it since 2022 lol
yeah it's way more stable than that, at least with my internet connection. maybe a connection from the UK is different
oh when you last played had they swtiched to the new system where you get crystals and credit rather than having to organize trades?
I haven't played since the days of opening packs being the only way to get cards
so it feels like a huge improvement lol
Yeah they had the crystals then, but most of the ways to get cards was use the code cards or get a good rank on the ladder
it wasn't as suffering as pokemon tcg online at least
yeah now I'm able to craft top of the line meta decks without having to spend any money, just some grinding
it's way better than the previous system
I remember having to win at least one battle daily to get a few crystals
yeah they have daily quests that are usually able to do in one match
you also get a lot of rewards for moving up the ladder. Getting to Arceus league netted me huge prizes
and leveling up your profile, and the battle pass-- you really do get a lot for playing a lot an dplaying well
yup, with online the only way to get cards was
-You had to win games on a ladder
-This would get you in game currency (used for avatar items only), tickets, maybe a booster pack, random ex card of the month
-The tickets were used to enter tournaments where people who ranked in the top 3 got boosters
I'm glad someone else knows my suffering
I just remember having to scrape by with half built decks against people who had obviously spent hundreds....
needing to win makes it so hard to get anywhere because you didn't have the cards to win
It was also when sky shaymin was a big thing where people were buying it for £100
and having the go to secondary sales sites to buy code card codes for bundles that had nessecary meta cards in them
oh I remember sky shaymin lol
people trading 50 booster backs for shaymin.....
I'm glad they got rid of booster pack trading
yeah when staple cards like that first came out it would be insane
cards that improved literally every kind of deck
being able to make cards is so good
cause it means there's not really a crappy econemy just to play
no you don't have to deal with an economy at all it's so nice
but I do miss being able to chat with other players. also the emotes are nowhere near as good
