speaking of TPOR, a bookstagrammer posted this review yesterday, which was cool and all, but they also said they don't want to read the next books as they have so many others to read. i'm really out of ideas how to improve readthrough -- maybe it's really just how the book was written?

like it stands alone enough and there's no... urgency or an immediate unresolved issue that propels the reader into book 2. the big war seems like a far off thing still? unless you're a norse myth person and you know what it means bc ragnarok?

i think i'll try writing a short (at some point) that will connect to book 2 and have that as a reader magnet, then people can just go back to book 1 and treat it as a prequel 🤔 the way book 2 ends at least already screams NEXT and book 3 also kicks off pretty action-y
