expert roulette gonna be hella spicy
I've gotten nothing but that dungeon in expert roulette lately.
I mean, new gear but also hhhhh
Honestly it's the second boss, but ouf
lmao my little son, litle hacker in training
everyone hates the second boss
It was my first time in .. and I went in as healer (which on the whole wasn't a bad thing) and I couldn't get properly out of that middle circle. I'll need to experiment with npcs whether I can survive being close to the middle with a crit shield...
but yeah we had one wipe there and one wipe on the last boss (I didn't read the worm tells right on the first try), and died once more to the second boss but the gnb and drg managed to kill it the second time
the misdirection phase gets me everytime
that's the worst part. I found the mechanics on the last boss difficult. there's just no room to Maneuver.
the last boss is challenging but doable
i finally did the dungeon and i agree, the misdirection phase is awful
I actually have more trouble with the third boss (I keep falling down the hole...), but I've always been good at dealing with misdirection...\
i am absolutely terrible at misdirection so i died immediately lmao
the hole wasn't hard to navigate around but i'm used to steering with my mouse as i run, so
it was the effects that i struggled with
Picto and Dancer are terrible to take into the dungeon because of the last boss.
I've only run it as BRD, which isn't so bad with the last boss as long as I don't stand in the wrong place and fall or get mauled XD;
I keep forgetting I need to run up to the boss first thing.
picto dancer dragoon sage white mage ninja need to be REAL careful on the last boss.
Ahhhh, easy to accidentally yeet yourself down the hole?
(Technically BRD also has a self-yeet, but backwards only, and I just stay on the far end of the hole to begin with when it does the proximity marker.)
(brd also does, but I've noticed that fewer people use it as it is AWAY rather than gap closer. But yeah trying to go across will get you into the hole.)
Basically, it's not really a good idea to use gap closers to get ahead of the moving aoes, because the arena is not a safe shape for those skills.
nup. just move. though I'm glad I did first go as sch, expedient is good even if it doesn't come off cooldown for the second round
I ran it as Bard and as Dancer
Bard was my first time and I did fall down the hole while running
did much better on dancer the second time
but also you kinda need to use your sprint when the aoe chases you around the circle depending on where you start and it helps
I also constantly forget to get behind the boss for that first AoE attack though so I need to get better at it to avoide the vuln stacks
i've been doing it as Viper and i'm getting great use out of sprint
I've never actually used sprint when the AoE goes around the edge...
it depends on where you are when the aoe starts. If you're on the side that it does, it's one way to resolve it (or, if you're careful enough, you can sidestep behind it)
yeah not everyone manages to get direct opposite
all of that said, I actually enjoy the last boss, and honestly the rest other than the confusion mechanic
those winding paths are evil
Perk of being ranged DPS, I get to go around to the opposite side of the hole during the proximity marker.
