Mirai suffers so bad from imposter syndrome, survivor's guilt, putting everyone else above herself because she's not worth it

but externally - on a normal day - she'll force a smile and pretend she's happy and outgoing. She'll do anything to make those around her smile and make sure they're okay both physically and mentally because she can't deal with seeing anyone else die

the end of Deer was her realizinmg she was dying and it wasn't Deerington's influence causing the symptoms. When the world around them was being destroyed and got dangerous. She finally admitted that she wasn't okay publicly
