Turning Toward the Morningi grew up seeing this group perform pretty regularly. "the world is always turning toward the morning" is still kind of a thing that sticks in my head on bad days.

this is one of those songs that can be perfect or can be overdone. you can't find flaw with this one -- cause, megacast, or rendition - though, i don't think. beautiful, and i think a good song for inspiration. (even if cervantes might be bemused.)

This is Me [The Greatest Showman] - Welsh of the Wes...this is one of those movies/musicals where I don't love the plot but I do love the soundtrack. This song always hits me exactly where it's meant to. I also really love Welsh of the West End <3 (Someone get Rhidian a mic as good as everyone else's though!)

Johnny Cash - Man in Black (The Best Of The Johnny C...I've always liked Johnny Cash better than almost any other country singer (and that era of country MUCH better than contemporary country pop/rock) but I hadn't heard this song until this year somehow, and while he admittedly had his own struggles and problems, this is really moving to me.

Denmark 1943last Fred Small, the first one i heard because I was OBSESSED with Number The Stars and it goes with the "keep fighting/we stand together" theme. CW for Holocaust, but it's about a pretty awesome historical event -- over 7200 of Denmark's 7800 Jews (I had no idea it was that many) were smuggled to Sweden and safety
