her VP choice was making some wildly transphobic remarks
but like they're grifters, all of them
anyways i'm feeling... idk... nervous
i'm gonna go vote tomorrow and then i'm going to the mall or maybe I'll see a movie to distract myself
i really wish the fuckers who "take a moral stand" would just get over themselves like you never hear from them when the vote isn't a hugely divisive election between an absolute monster and i mean, ok some of her policies aren't great but she's not threatening to lock up half the country
like do I feel icky about how this administration has handled the Israli-Palestine war? yes! am I going to throw my vote away on someone I know isn't going to get elected bc of those icky feelings? no!
yeah I don't like the way they've handled it either but honestly i'm gonna be honest and its that we cant help others if our own country is going down the toilet -- Trump has admitted that he doesn't care about Palestine and I think that Kamala might be more open to pressure on the subject so...
a LOT in our country here and now is riding on this election
god I had to unfollow a bunch of cool food instagrams from dearborn because they were all for and encouraging their followers to vote for stein instead of doing anything productive
like, glad you're all morons and want to throw your vote away in a consequential election, super cool
"oh but kamala herself didn't immediately end israel's war" okay what do you think trump will do here
also kamala is vp right now??????? that means she's not currently president??????
also she's the VP she's not in charge
your protest vote is doing nothing
do people really think that these people who show up every four years just to shove their name on the ballot and none of the work have any chance or have any kind of meaningful plans like be so fucking for real
no they just think it'll uwu send a message
like grow the fuck up. it'd be nice to not have a choice between two but unfortunately that's what we've got for now
we cant enact any meaningful change or do anything about the party system we've got so... this is what we're at.
dyads: Oh I've asked them repeatedly how Kamala could use her position as VP to end everything like they claim she can, and the closest thing to "this person exists in reality" I've gotten as an answer so far is "well she could have resigned but she didn't, so she's complicit"
which doesn't answer the fucking question but at least shows they realized they were literally demanding the impossible
(her resigning would also not actually stop anything)
And I've given up trying to get these people to realize that if both candidates suck for one issue, you then compare them on the rest
and if you actually do that you get to "this candidate is pushing for things I don't want but there is a possibility they can be pressured to change positions and at least isn't threatening to deport me for disagreeing"
and "this candidate also sucks, would actively seek to make things worse, and is also currently pledging to send the state after anyone who disagrees with him on Gaza and will also be objectively worse on literally every other issue"
but they either do not understand or do not care that what they're broadcasting is "I care so much about this singular issue I am prepared to risk the worst person to handle it getting in office and I am also willing to throw every vulnerable and marginalized group under the bus in order to say I did something"
Did people forget Jill Stein raising millions of dollars for a recount in 2016 and then the money just kinda disappearing
They definitely forget she was only demanding one to help Trump
She was down by enough that no recount could possibly get her to win, which left only one candidate who could benefit....
I know the courts stopped the recount as a result, but I don't recall her campaign ever announcing what was going to happen with the money
I totally forgot about that but yeah
