I am once again begging people to exercise just the tiniest bit of critical thinking
Banks do not have dispute rights to recover funds from a scam where you yourself gave the person all your money despite all the warning signs
like it's one thing if it's somebody setting up a fake website and pretending to be a merchant of some kind actually selling things, and they take the money and run
it is another matter entirely if someone contacts you claiming to be Elon Musk and asks you to send them a bunch of money through CashApp and Venmo for an "investment opportunity"
especially when they're asking it be sent via multiple smaller payments, which should really be setting off some alarm bells even if the literal richest man on earth asking you for money somehow didn't
banks can protect your money, they cannot protect you from your own terrible decisions made WITH that money
but without fail these customers always default to "this is YOUR fault"
