Friendster got started 33 years after I graduated from High School

I've been looking for something else for my family to use besides FB. But I read there is iffy content on here (porn, drugs, etc) but maybe those can be filtered out? I went ahead and put my name on the list. I'm number 334789. Will probably be a while!

careful, please. it might be a phishing attempt. i find it odd that it is not officially announced or in the news in reputable sources anywhere for such an iconic part of the early 2000s.

what care04 said. Though I think it's legit, and plans for this revival has been on the works since last year. However, the biggest question is, who is funding Friendster now? What is it for them? If Friendster died because it was losing money way faster than its former owner can keep up, why revive it now?

And it might sound strange, but their promise of "we will never sell your data" or "not driven by advertisers" sounds very suspicious. It's pretty much like Google's "don't be evil".
