still stuck on the canon alternate timeline where she worked for samaritan + the writers saying that of all of team machine, shaw is the one who's least loyal to the cause; she does what she does purely because she's devoted to the team, trusts their moral judgments, and wants to honor/respect the choices of the people she loves

there are so many little moments where this is brought out; i'm always interested in the intricacies of when and where and with who she takes orders/falls into line

the slow progression of openly scoffing at harold's moral standards put putting up with them because he pays her/gives her something to do

to still not really getting it but nevertheless steadfastly doing what he wants because even if she doesn't really believe in it, she believes in him

and it's not that she fully doesn't believe in it, she says stuff like "if that work taught me anything, it's that how you do matters as much as what you do" as early as mid s3, but she's not passionate about it the way the others are
