option 2) human driving his sister who is a blade this time. she dies protecting him again (is that. even what happens in canon. help) and because he can't bear the loss of her (either waking her up with no memories hurts or her core was irreparably shattered) he decides he'll never drive a blade again....

also I think "did you, a blade eater, get powers" in ywkon depends on 1) how much of the core did you eat 2) how welcome ur physiology is to channeling ether / resistant to ether poisoning

honestly my gut instinct for why wol is so ether resistant is that the body that the first crystal was implanted into was so tattered that it had to be reconstructed with. way more ether than average. its just teetering the line of what would have poisoning if they were, uh, more alive at the time, but the circumstances aligns so that. wol was born,
