Musing on some crossovers... The Wild Robot and The Silver Arrow books would be interesting because of their shared environmentalist themes (plus TWR and The Murderbot Diaries, because the potential for both AI/construct main characters to go 'wat' at each others' lives is too funny to me).
but ALSO: Orion and the Dark (movie version, obviously)... but it's The Magnus Archives.
In which the Fears are at least halfway intelligent (for given values of 'intelligent'), without requiring Avatars.
