What kind of things in a top level or post make you think, “Hot damn, I gotta get in there”?

Hmmm, outside of the obvious which would be like. "It's a character I am familiar with and already want CR with" or "It's a topic that my character feels strongly about", I think the best way to get me automatically interested in a toplevel is a sense of humor and a creative scenario.

Like I love humor regardless but I think sometimes including a silly aspect somehow unconsciously lets me know "Oh okay we are okay to be silly" and that eases the anxiety of tagging out if I'm having any lmao.

Because there have certainly been times where I've tagged strangers with my normal level of enthusiasm and essentially gotten a reaction

whats something you'd like to RP but haven't gotten the chance to yet? character type, scenario, au, etc

like to be clear not failing to read a pre-existing serious mood and come in with a clown nose or anything, but just like. "Oh these guys already have a thing going on and clearly don't want this CR"

quesadillawizard: HMM, that's really broad. I'm not sure how to even narrow it down. I think it's less that there's things I haven't tried and more things that happened but that I never got to explore to their full potential. Heather being head honcho of the Devil's Nest in Ryslig was something I was really sad to have to drop, because I loved

that dynamic so much and wish I could continue exploring it and her overall development there.

It would also be fun to get to play ships with her outside of VR, because she's always had very good chemistry with lots of different characters.

Lots of eyeballs and dark doorways.

might be a monster Izumi with a cloth over her face and her entire torso torn open and empty

maybe his monsters aren't aquatic so he can get away from them by jumping into bodies of water but it's only a temporary solution

thesinnerwithin: HM well I am really looking forward to Wrath being able to interact with his castmates with Full Knowledge of the events in canon, because that was out of the question before. Now that he's older and more outwardly calm that opens up some possibilities for more subtle relationships with other characters too, since he's not just

ricocheting off the walls like a ping-pong ball all the time. DEFINITELY looking forward to him getting to know Ed in a non-antagonistic context and just like. SIT DOWN AND TALK, about all the shit they've been through! And also it's really exciting to me that Lust and Scar have inadvertently tripped into near-literal-parent territory with Wrath

because 1. wrath has literally been instrumental in the deaths of ALL THREE OF HIS MOTHER FIGURES and he has a lot to unpack about that which he can do a little of with Lust further down the line, and 2. WRATH HAS NEVER ACTUALLY HAD A DAD FIGURE because Sig rightfully was like "...... this is Izumi's thing and I am not going to get in her way"

plus 'deeply-traumatized character learning to Exist Again' is one of my favorite things to write, and Wrath has a lot of slow healing to do.

AS FOR HEATHER, she's so firmly established in the setting that I've gotten to play out A LOT of what I've aimed to with her, but like... I definitely want to see her continue to meet and get close to people. Most of her loved ones outside of the Shark House fam are long gone from the setting, and it's definitely had an effect on her.

I'm also looking forward to more Ed CR for her as well, because she's kind of automatically connected to the Eternal Elric Brother Drama just by virtue of her relationship, and out of the three, Ed is still the one she knows the least about. It all depends a lot on how Ed and Envy continue to broach things with each other, so I'm excited to see that

happening!

OTHER STARTERS THOUGH... I think at the time, Growlithe was the auto-choice for me because FIRE and DOG are two of Heather's big fears and I was like HAHA YES

but ALSO, back in the day, we were only on gen 4 and Route itself only included gens 1 and 2

it started branching out to including other gens later!

and I do think it's safe to say that the game were starting like, right this second with all current generations of Pokemon, my choice would be a lot harder lmao... I can definitely think of a few options that would fit her better.

Fennekin line would be good because fire and witchcraft, + psychic type. And now that Girafarig has a really baller evolution, the duality theme and the fact that it's a little spooky are REALLY good for her.

Scorbunny line also good because fire and sporty, plus could tie in Robbie Rabbit somehow.

Followup question, if VR assigned starters for you, which starters would you actively opt out of for her

I am admittedly very tired of the meme at this point, but giving Heather a Fidough because LOL IT'S BREAD would be tempting
