something that was meant to stop a machine from falling didn't work and may have caused a bigger mess

oh yeah it turns out that the reason the thing failed and the machine fell is that we were ordering the computer to bypass a safety check because the Internet was down

which just feels darkly ironic and hypocritical because they have been very 'safety first!' for the past few months, really pushing us to report safety issues and work safely

and then the moment they feel it's getting in the way of making machines that all goes out the window
