Don't go around inviting stuff into your home if you can't see what that thing is! You don't know!!!!

my example being, in my time in the midwest, it seems underlying assumed that ghosts/spirits/entities are dangerous/malicious so...lines up with exactly what you're saying!!!!

in the southwest, spirits tend to be perceived as neutral to generally like...pleasant/just doing their own shit

Now mind you my family has a History of perceiving things (a few stories on the ziri!mum's side) and I have gotten Vibes but I do not think I personally have perceived things outside of catching movement when there shouldn't be, but our home seems to be particularly safe I think

i knew a few people like this in boston who like invited bad entities laughing then were like i think my house is cursed idk way that's a thing

I have a weird history in that...I have been approached by strangers since a young age to be told i have a lot of spirits around me, but always that they're nice lksddg which is a thing I have enjoyed digging into for writing

my roommate in boston (and we were in an OLD house) swore the previous tenant had invited a shitty spirit and like we had some bad light stuff and weird bumps

and I just wanted to calm roommate but I went in the kitchen and was like hey you can hang out with us but we need you to respect the house rules too or you need to leave

Oh yiii I haven't ever had a problem in my home rn except for when I started seeing shadow figures when dad was starting to hit the worst of his Alzheimers symptoms and started getting violent

(The home I'm in is the one I grew up in so we've been here for over 35 years, and might be the second family or so that lived here)

And with the shadow figures I might've done the Startled Cat bristle and asked that anything that was here to cause trouble please leave

But if I ever have to find a new space to live in I will absolutely keep that in mind

Oh my gosh this dude turned his place into a literal spirit den and a shaman came in, took one look around and told him he needed to get a new place because it was so bad

He told her he'd done a summoning ritual and she got so mad because apparently he'd been living right next door to a pathway for spirits and basically did the equivalent of putting neon signs on his door

Basically anything she did to the house was temporary, it was permanently messed up

This is why we don't heck with things!!
