[CPAP] Day one of using a CPAP, I think I tightened the mask too much as I woke up with a mark on the bridge of my nose.

Also I didn't sleep all that much. Gonna try to loosen the mask tonight to see if that's better.

cheers on It'll take getting used to, but in the end, be so much better!
i can say it rarely needs to be as tight as one thinks. once the pressure kicks in, it does a good job of holding itself in place

Once you get used to it, it'll be the best thing.

onlyg: yea the instructor was insistent about preventing leaks since I have a beard, but I'll loosen it and see if that makes it better

jantra: I hope so. I felt I was awake trying to sleep more than actually being asleep but hopefully it'll get easier

Gemakai: So, there's actually a thing you can either build or make to help deal with the beard. What mask do you have?

Yeah, the adjustment period is kind of intense. I got barely any sleep for three weeks and then my body was like "ok I guess this is what we're doing now"

elalmadelmar: yea. I'm hoping that's the case.

kbrighton: so the mask i got has a memory foam outline so it form fits to my face. what does this one do?

It basically gives more surface area and a smaller hole just for the mouth and nose, making it so it gets a better seal and doesn't have to deal with the facial hair.

kbrighton: maybe. we'll see how my current one goes over the next few days

I had to adjust both the 'fit' and to getting used to it, but it didn't take as long as elalmadelmar thankfully. But once you start seeing the benefits it's like night/day.

ok. I'll take y'alls word for it
oh another tip; looping a lock of hair through the strap around the back of the head will often help with it slipping up towards the crown

onlyg: Thankfully don't seem to be having that issue. my mask seal was pretty good (maybe TOO good).
