[pkmn] the leaked gen 3 beta sprites are INCREDIBLY funny to me because it's so many concepts that were clearly sent back to cook some more and then a handful that are Basically Just The Existing Pokemon
and it is especially funny to me that, of all Pokemon, Manectric is one of the ones where they were like "yeah just clean this up a bit, it doesn't need another design pass"
like listen I like manectric but that dog should have some ears.
I think beta electrike's face is actually a little cuter tho

it's really interestng how many of these you can see they kept cooking on until they emerged in later gens
like there's definitely a proto-Mienshao in there
and a proto-Scraggy
that one blue and purple... creature... even looks like it was the seed idea for Primarina
the ying yang on the back of the Absol's head is actually kinda cool
can't tell if the upper left is a proto-lati or a proto-blaziken or a proto-proto-proto slither wing
or perhaps some combination of the above
I too wish we'd gotten the water bunny (no one who knows me is surprised)
