anyway, flying to MSP to then head to DC for family vacation
last year when we went to NYC, my mom forgot her ID at home. in prepping for this trip we all joke about reminding her to bring it to the airport this time
so, here I am, doggo dropped off at the sitter, in my car about to exit the highway to the airport and a thought hits me: I have left my wallet on the dining room table at home
I get off the highway immediately, pull a U turn to go back the other way, and run straight into traffic. at 11am in the morning.
I get home grab the wallet, head back to the airport. reminder that my flight leaves at 11:55
get on the highway going the other way, there's a crash
get to the park and ride at about 11:30, there is a shuttle ready and waiting who takes me straight to the airport
get to security at about 11:40, walk right through because I have TSA pre check
get onto the shuttle that goes to my gate at about 11:45
get up to the gate, the door is not yet closed, but the lady at the gate holds me because they might have closed the aircraft door
she calls the plane, the door is not closed, I gate check my bag and get on the plane at noon
anyway suffice to say I got myself a glass of rosé because I needed it
I was scoping alternate flights from bumper to bumper traffic but thankfully it didn't come to that
