then a few hours later, they send out a correction that the town offices would be closed solely in observance of columbus day, not for indigenous peoples day, which it wouldn't be recognizing

I find "closed for the federal holiday" is best in areas where the snowflakes are amassed

It could also be people in admin/power upset more than the town itself tbh

the town itself is very conservative and the town council sucks, so sadly it's a twofer
